[News] Medically assisted dying and cancer: a complex issue

Despite the availability of legal Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) in Switzerland, conventional cancer-related suicide rates have not altered significantly between 1999 and 2018, according to a study published in Cancer Medicine. During the study period, cancer was the predominant disease associated with medically assisted dying, as it is in other regions of the world where MAID is allowed within a legal framework.
