[News] Environmental pollution and cancer risk in La Oraya, Peru

On March 22, 2024, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (San José, Costa Rica) ruled that Peru has violated the right of the people residing in the mining city of La Oroya to live in a healthy environment. The residents were exposed to toxic levels of environmental pollutants for years without sufficient pollution control measures.
