[News] Congressional Black Caucus calls for US-wide menthol cigarette sales ban

At this year’s Annual Legislative Conference of the Congressional Black Caucus (Sept 20–24, Washington DC, USA) a panel discussion on eliminating mentholated cigarettes (also known as menthols) called for a total nationwide ban on sales. The Congressional Black Caucus was established in 1971 and currently comprises 58 members of the US House of Representatives and Senate, with the stated aim of ensuring “that African Americans and other marginalised communities in the US have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream”.
