[News] Agreement to reduce industrial emissions in Europe

On Nov 29, 2023, the European Parliament struck a deal, in the form of a provisional political agreement, with the European Council, a body that represents the heads of governments of the EU member states. The deal aims to mitigate air, water, and soil pollution caused by harmful emissions from industry which in turn can lead to various diseases, including cancer.
