[Correspondence] Incorporating absolute effects to enrich interpretation of findings from meta-analyses

Claire Petit and colleagues1 conducted an individual patient data network meta-analysis to compare the efficacy of eight treatments on patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma who were treated with radiotherapy. The methodology of this network meta-analysis is well established, albeit with a limitation—the interpretation of findings depends solely on relative effects, overlooking absolute effects.
