[Comment] Utilising cancer registry data to monitor cancer burden

Geographical equity in cancer burden can be assessed based on high-resolution data from population-based registries. In The Lancet Oncology, Theo Rashid and colleagues1 combined vital registration data with novel statistical methodology to provide insight into small-area variation in cancer mortality in England, how it has changed from 2002 to 2019, and how it correlates with district-level poverty.
