[Perspectives] Together and apart: experiences of childhood brain tumour

Being diagnosed with a brain tumour during childhood has a profound impact on the child’s life and on their family and personal network. Providing comprehensive support through health services, social and community organisations, and schools is crucial to help children and their families navigate the associated lifelong challenges. This often includes supporting families through grief and a life without their child, since brain tumours are the most fatal solid tumours worldwide. We were privileged to co-design an exhibition on the experiences of childhood brain tumour at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT; Brisbane, QLD, Australia), which ran from Sept 26 to Oct 6, 2023.
