On Feb 6, 2024, the UK government announced the launch of the Children and Young People Cancer Taskforce. In their press release they stated that the aim of the taskforce is to improve treatment, detection, and research for cancer in children. The taskforce will bring together clinicians, cancer charities, and the government towards this aim. Partners include Cancer Research UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, and the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group. In comments to Parliament, Minister for Health and Secondary Care Andrew Stephenson MP stated that the taskforce would “forge connections, strengthen collaboration, and drive progress in tackling children’s and young people’s cancers”.
