[Perspectives] Surviving cancer through poetry

Author and poet Bob Crew is a former field journalist for The Times and author of non-fiction books on a wide range of topics. His first collection of poetry Surviving Schizophrenia (Chipmunka Publishing, 2007) spoke of his brother’s life with schizophrenia and mental health care in the UK. His most recent release, Surviving Cancer at Both Ends (MX Publishing; 2023) turns his prose towards his own 20-year journey with cancer. The result of this introspection is a slim and mighty tome that speaks boldly to the complex nature of understanding mortality.
