The Article by Margreet Lüchtenborg and colleagues provides insights into cancer burden in the prison population in England,1 highlighting differences in cancer incidence, treatment, and survival when compared with the general population. As a social worker, I commend the authors for their focus on this population group, as it is important for advancing health equity and enhancing targeted interventions. The study’s contributions to understanding cancer in prisons should be acknowledged, however some aspects of the study require careful interpretation and additional research.
